Community Events and Involvement at Karl Malone Toyota of Ruston
Hot coffee and food provided to truckers stuck on i-20 in Ruston, LA.
During the severe snow and ice storm of 2021, which had most of highway i-20 in Ruston, LA, shut down, Karl Malone Toyota of Ruston stepped in to help provide a hot cup of coffee and food to stranded truckers. It took two days for the Department of Transportation to clear the roadway and detour traffic through the area. But thanks to a simple Facebook post, we were able to let stranded truckers know we had their back!
Jambalaya fundraiser to benefit DART — Domestic Abuse Resistance Team.
“The Mailman Delivers Jambalaya for DART” was the headline promoting a fundraiser held by Karl Malone Toyota of Ruston in support of DART (Domestic Abuse Resistance Team). The dealership-held fundraiser was put together by our Service and Parts Director, Rusty Wilfong. You could call the dealership or stop by to purchase $10 tickets for a plate of jambalaya. All proceeds from the fundraiser went to DART in support of domestic violence victims and children and families seeking shelter from abuse. There were nine pots of fresh jambalaya made for the third-annual fundraiser, and it was a huge hit! Karl Malone has been a friend of DART for years and believes in philanthropy.
Toy drive for Junior Auxiliary of Ruston.
Junior Auxiliary of Ruston is a female non-profit service organization focused on giving back to the community, especially children. Karl Malone Toyota of Ruston assisted their efforts by hosting a toy drive for children in need. Donations were brought into the dealership and placed into the back of a Toyota SUV. Because of the outpouring of love and support from the community, Karl Malone Toyota of Ruston was able to help over 100 children have a gift for Christmas.
Halloween 2022 Trunk-or-Treat for the kids.
Our third-annual Halloween Trunk-or-Treat event is in the books, and everyone had a blast showing off their costumes and receiving candy. Our staff joined in on the festivities, dressing up in their favorite Halloween costumes and handing out candy to the children of Ruston. The event was a huge success. We plan to continue this tradition at our fourth-annual Halloween Trunk-or-Treat event for 2023.
Keeping Ruston cool in 2021.
During the summer scorcher of 2021, the city of Ruston, LA, was running out of ways to stay cool. To support the cool down, Karl Malone Toyota of Ruston donated box fans to help individuals and families stay cool and out of the heat.
